Cookie Policy
Introduction
At McCalls of Lisburn we want to make sure that the website we operate looks as good as possible but is also easy for you to use. To help us do this, our website uses cookies.
Cookies help us to assess how you use our website and how we can improve it. This means we have the information we need to regularly evaluate whether our website really meets your needs. Some of the cookies we use improve the functionality of our website, so if you choose to disable cookies in your browser you might find that you can't access some aspects of our website, or that parts of it don't function in the way you might expect.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we put on your computer if you agree. Cookies allow us to recognise that you have visited our website before and remember your preferences.
Cookies can help us to remember your website login so that you don't need to type it in every time you return, or to remember the goods you have added to your basket.
Cookies also help us to collect information about the way you use our website, which helps us to ensure any advertising that you see is relevant and useful to you.
How we use cookies
These cookies allow us to distinguish you from other users of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse and to improve our website. We are required by law to provide you with clear and comprehensive information about the cookies we use, and if this page does not answer all of your queries you should contact us.
Our cookies do not store information which could be used to identify you personally, such as your contact details. We use the following types of cookie:
Strictly necessary cookies — required for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website, use a shopping basket or check out.
Analytical / performance cookies — allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
Functionality cookies — used to recognise you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalise our content for you and remember your preferences.
Targeting cookies — record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.
Our website is hosted on Shopify. Details of the cookies Shopify sets on our behalf, and how to manage your preferences, are set out in our Privacy Policy. You can change your consent at any time using the cookie banner.
Third-party services
In addition to our own cookies, our website also uses third-party cookies which are set by a domain other than our website — for example Google Analytics (non-personal information used to track a visitor's route through the website, to help us improve it) and online advertising services such as Google Ads (which may set cookies to help identify which adverts are clicked on). Third parties may also use cookies over which we have no control. If you require further information about what those cookies are or how they are used, you should contact those providers directly.
How do I block cookies?
You can block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our website. Precisely how cookies are blocked will depend upon the browser you use. If you would like further information please contact us.
What will happen if I disable cookies?
If you choose to disable access to cookies in your browser you will not be able to log in, register or purchase from this website.
